Today I went to this little lunch thing for Western States Chiropractic College (remember, I want to be a chiropractor). It was my Dad's idea--it was for free, and they'd tell us stuff about their college. ^__^
WSCC is in Oregon, so that's an instant plus. But, what they told us about it during the lunch makes it sound like a pretty darn good college. Probably the best part is that we found out that they don't charge out of state charges. C: I think I'd like to go there and check it out in person.
Mm-hm. It was a good little lunch, found out some good stuff, ate some good food, and had a good time.
After... many months of a dry-spell, I have two commissions. Yay! Now I can give that monies to my parents (for groceries and stuff). Hehe, yeah. Pretty much every commission I get goes toward groceries for the family.
And I have a trade to finish, too. C: I haven't forgotten about you, Mr. Controversial! I'm workin' on it.
Man, what I want to know is why that now I'm busy, I have this need to get tons of personal stuff done in addition to my work stuff. It doesn't make sense! I've had several weeks of nothing but me-time, but I did hardly anything during that time art-wise. Fickle Misty brain. >:^P
Ooh, the contest at Goons-and-a-Bandit is ended. Soon I'll have prize art to do! 8^D
Hmm. I think that's all that's been going on at the moment. It's kinda nice to be a little bit busy again. |

Uh, wow. Long time no post.
I saw UP today.
I loved it. It made me cry, right there in the theater. SEVERAL TIMES. I hate crying (especially around other people)... I tried really hard not to cry, but I just couldn't hold it back. T___T
But, yeah. It was very, very good. If you have cash to spare, go see it.
I think that UP might replace Ratatouille as my second favorite Pixar film. |

| Spring Break Ends |

And thus spring break comes to a close.
It was a very good spring break. I got a lot done. Slept in a lot, too. x3
I cleaned my room--it was an absolute DISASTER. I got rid of a bunch of stuff, moved stuff around... it's a LOT nicer now~! ^_______^
And we did a lot of house-cleaning, too. Out house is JAM-PACKED with a lot of crap. So, over the break we cleaned, and purged. We're still not done, but it's a lot better. ^_^
I did actually draw a few pages of TWT chapter three... but it was only three pages, including the cover. Kinda lame, but... Well, I was going to do more, but then I ran out of those plastic page cover thingies. And I kind of need those to keep my pages out of danger. This is when living in a house with a bunch of other people gets sucky--they sometimes throw out important things. Also I live with a cat, and while I love her... she drools, and she gets into EVERYTHING. Kinda lame excuses, I know, but... eh, what're you gonna do? XP
Drew quite a bit in general, too. Character pages and whatnot--it's about time I got around to doing those. C:
But, unfortunately... I didn't take my old pair of pants apart to make a pattern yet. Other things kept coming up, and I forgot about it. Geh. Also I have some other mending to do... my favorite pajamas just got a big hole in them. XP It's a quick fix (especially since they're just pajamas, and no one will ever really see them, so I don't have to be perfect).
And I also want to cut up some of my old T-shirts and see if I can't make something more flattering out of them. Just another thing on my to-do list. X(
I did do some reading like I wanted, but not a lot. I read 'Watchmen' which I might talk about later. But, I didn't catch up on BLEACH yet... I'm SO far behind. X___x;; And I didn't read anything from ympile of books sitting next to my bed... Poor Pride and Prejudice has been waiting for me to finish reading it since... forever ago. >..>;
Ah, well. Can't have everything, I guess. I'll do that other stuff eventually. :P

| Off to Las Vegas! |

So last week my Dad, my sisters and I went to Las Vegas to pack up my late grandmother's stuff. We got a lot done.
Still a lot to do at my grandmother's house, though... so my Dad, my sisters and I will be going back to Las Vegas tomorrow to load up some furniture.
My sister Rose is getting a lot of furniture that was my late grandmother's. :P Then we get to drive all the furniture down to my sister's house in California. :/
Like last time, I'd much rather stay home and draw and laze about until Monday... but, my Dad asked us to, so I'm happy to help. Also he promised us more pizza. YUM.
So I won't be back until Sunday night. What a drag. -__-; |

So, today I puked in the community college parking lot.
Backtrack to this morning!
I was feeling queezy and dizzy. I wanted to stay home, but today I have Art History, and the lecture is pivotal. Also I had a test for biology.
Against my better judgment, I decided to stick it out at go to my classes. Right when I car stopped, I barfed. So, my sister and I came straight back home. X___X;;
But, we did go back later for math class, and to take our biology test. Which I'm pretty sure I did badly on, as I didn't study for it. >..>;; I'm thinking I got a C...maybe. But, I don't like that class, so I don't care. I'll be happy if I get a B at the end of the semester. :P But, I will study for the next test, to help bring up my average.
What I do feel bad about is wasting gas going back and forth to school, and missing art history. I have a test in art history on Friday. So, I'm going to have to look up the artists and their work that I missed... I won't get the full information on the artists or their work, but hopefully that'll help me out on the test a bit. x__o;;
ANYway. I do feel a lot better than this morning, though. I'm tired and my head has been aching off and on, but that's all. I should go sleep now. |

For the first time in... God, ten years? I went bike riding. It's true what they say, you never forget how to ride a bike. I was a little wobbly at first, but I got used to it after a few seconds.
I forgot how fun it was to ride a bike, and fee; the wind in my hair~ It was lovely.
And... I'm even wiped out from it. That's kind of a weird thing for me. Explanation: I sometimes get insomnia. And in an effort to tire me out during the day so that I can sleep at night, my sisters sometimes force me to go on long walks with them, on an a nice run. But that doesn't work out, and I still get insomnia. But... I think I might actually be able to fall asleep fairly quickly tonight? We shall see.
Oh, gawd! School is in session the day ofter tomorrow. >__< But I wants to sleep in and watch TV and movies and draw my life away! T_T
When I'm rich, that's all I'll ever do. But I'll probably hire a personal trainer to come by once a week to keep my butt in some kind of shape. :P
Yeah... I have silly dreams. But I will make them a reality!!
So, yeah.
Tomorrow Emily and I are going to go bike riding around the neighborhood. That should be fun! |

Weeeeee!
My braces are OFF! :^D
All that I have is a little retainer on the backs of my front teeth on my lower row.
I'm going back tomorrow for my upper retainer~ It'll be a removable one. :3
Hahhhhh. Now I can eat all the sticky crap I want. I'll still be careful, though--I don't want to rip off my little retainer. But, the orthodontist said I could have gooey stuff, so yay! ^__^
...
In sadder news, my grandmother passed away. It was on Tuesday last week.
I'm not very sad about it, though. That may sound bad, but... she had been declining in health for like... the past thirty years. And especially over that past two years or so, she had gotten really bad. So, it's a relief to her, really. I'm glad it's over for her.
But, my poor dad. He has to deal with getting her affairs in order and getting her funeral planned. He seems alright, though.
Now to end on a happier note, I started scanning in Chapter Two of TWT. You know, those drawings are nearly six months old, but I don't hate them completely yet. Oh, don't get me wrong, I still dislike them plenty, but there are still quite a few that I like. :3 |

| The New Year |

Hmm. 2008 just zipped by for me. I guess that's because I was rather busy throughout the year:
-Got my driver's license.
-Got a couple of little jobs at the temp agency.
-Worked a lot on TWT.
-Took a full load at community college.
-Did quite a bit of sewing (ah, rekindling of an old hobby <3 )
-Did a community project (Bheuhaubith http://mistytang.deviantart.com/art/Bheuhaubith-the-Misty-Version-89754881 )
-Opened commissions, and actual got commissions.
-Made a lot of progress as an artist. (At least, in my opinion.)
And now, for things I want to do for next year:
-Get a part-time job.
-Finish Part One of TWT (I feel bad about not fulfilling my self-imposed deadlines)
-At least start scripting on Part Two of TWT.
-Continue to work on dynamism.
-Continue to work on my sewing.
-Get more commissions.
-Take another full-load at community college, but that's a given.
-And I'll leave this space empty, because there's always room to improve on something you don't know about, or that you're not thinking about.
Okay! That's about it, I think.
Oh, since I mentioned 'The White Tower' a few times, I guess I should mention that I finished inking chapter two. I shall begin toning shortly.

Eeheehee!
I get my braces off in four weeks!! I can't wait. I'll have a retainer, but whatever.... that's better than having braces--you can take off the retainer. :^B
Uuh. Finals are on Monday and Wednesday. The only final I'm really concerned about is math. I have to get a B in order to keep my A (so far I've gotten all As on my tests, some high, some low). I mean, I'll be happy with a B, but I wants an A.
So, I'll be studying for math more than psychology and biology. I will study a bit for Bio and Psy, but those are pretty easy courses, so. Yeah. I won't have to study -that- much for them.
Poop, next semester starts in January on the 21st. I wanted a longer break than that. T_T Gotta sign up for new classes soon. XP
Gaaahhhh.
Christmas!
So many presents to finish, so little time and energy. That's why I decided to take a little break today. All I'll do is study for my math final, and maybe work on my uncle's Christmas present. Ooh, I finished my Aunt's Christmas present, by the way! I'm very pleased with it.
Yeah, I'm probably gonna take pictures of all these presents I'm making and post them on DA. but probably only when I finish them all. :P
And commissions. Got seven more to go. x_x (I'll be posting them at DA, but only when I finish them all. By request of the commissioner~) |

Well, thanksgiving break is over. Tomorrow I go back to classes. :^(
I did get quite a bit done, though.
-Finished my grandmother's Christmas present.
-Sketched out more commissions for Rosellafan.
-Pumped out my entry for my sister's contest.
-Finished my third of 'Contrast II'.
-Did my Sketch Exchange.
But... I still have so much more to do! T_T
-Finish those commissions for Rosellafan.
-Make Christmas presents for my Uncle, Aunt, and try my darndest to make presents for all four of my siblings + my bro in law.
-Finish my Snow White anniversary contest entry for the Disney club.
-Do my 'megiddo2012' comic (the minimum is three pages, but I want to do at least five).
-Ink the rest of Chapter Two of TWT.
-Clean my room (it's getting pretty disgusting).
Thanksgiving dinner was delicious. I made pumpkin pie for dessert~ <3

School is ending in about three weeks! Then I get my Christmas break~! Which lasts about... a month? Not sure. In any case, I can't wait. I'll get to turn off my brain, and just do whatever the hell I want. Oh, and try to get a job again. XP
Sooooo. Yeah, my Mom got a second job. At Wal-Mart. I feel kinda bad about it. If Emily or I had gotten a job, then she wouldn't have had to... She seems to be okay, though. She even said it was alright that we didn't get a job there--said that they will always go for the people with experience.
It's really frustrating. How am I supposed to get experience if no one will hire me?? Gawd. I mean, I don't want to get a job, but I have to. It's really important. So, I guess I do kind of want to get a job because of that. Yeah.
And it doesn't help that my big sister and her husband keep being jerks. I'm sure they don't realize it, but jeeze. A couple weeks ago, they offered for my little sister to go live with them to help ease the burden off of mom and dad--Tasha told Mom, and needless to say, Mom was very upset at them. Tasha was, too, but not as much; she has this miraculous talent of not being too upset about much of anything.
This weekend, they did the same thing to me. They called me a burden, and said that by telling them that I didn't want to live with them, I wanted to keep being a burden. That really hurt my feelings. I didn't tell Mom and Dad, though. They already have enough enough problems without me telling them nothing new about Rose and Jason (yeah, they are frequently rude).
It's shit like that that makes me not want to go to their new house for Christmas.
Oh, yeah, I guess I didn't mention that. We're probably going to their new house for Christmas. The only fun thing that I can think of that would happen there, is playing with Arthur, and helping with working on their backyard.
It seems that ninety percent of the time, I only update this thing to bitch about something XD Oh, well. Bitching makes me feel better.
ANYway! I did finish that watercolor commission I was talking about last time. She really liked it. In fact, she liked it so much that she gave me fifteen extra dollars! The price was originally fifteen, but when she saw it, she gave me another five. And then she said that she should give me another ten, it was so good. I thought she was joking, but on the day of our next biology class, she gave me ten more dollars! Isn't that so nice? She gave me double what I asked for! :^D
Ooh, yesterday I cut out all the pieces for two chickens. As in, toy chickens. One is for my grandmother, and the other is for my little sister. And I'm also going to make a pig for my uncle, a cow for aunt, and another cow for my elder sister, Emily.
My mom asked me to make these toys for my Grandma, Uncle and Aunt. She thinks they'll get a big kick out of 'em. I hope they do. :3
So I'm feeling rather accomplished.
Le gasp! I haven't even started on my 'megiddo2012' comic yet. I have been thinking about it, though... so I guess it's not completely horrible of me? I'm gonna try to work on it this week during my breaks at school. And at home if I'm not totally wiped out.

I'm thinking I need new avatars again. XP
ANYway.
Today's biology lab was really short, and kinda fun. We got our PCR results back. My genetic markers didn't really look like anybody else's. But, then again, I only got to see it compared to three other people, so. Yeah. However! Two girls that were in my group were remarkably similar--they weren't related, FYI. The lab tech guy said that they probably shared the same ancestry at some point...but who knows how many generations ago THAT was! You could probably trace it back to 100 years ago...probably more? I can't say for sure since I'm only just learning this stuff XD
In other news! I got my first real-life commission! As in, working with a person in...well, person! XD
It's kinda funny. I was just doodling one day, waiting for Bio100's lecture to start, and the lady I sit next to saw me. We got to talking and she asked me if I did caricatures--and since I do, I got to say yes! And she asked me if I could draw her daughter for her. She and her daughter had gone to Disneyland, and apparently her daughter was really upset that she didn't get to have her picture drawn, so she wants to make it up to her. And there you go~!
Her daughter is really cute! I had fun sketching her out (whenever I draw a new subject, I like to sketch them out several times before trying an actual illustration). I think I've gotten her daughter's face down pretty well--I even asked my whole family if my sketches looked like the photo, just to make sure. So tomorrow I'm going to draw out some lineart and watercolor it.
I'm a little nervous, I'm not so good with watercolors yet, so I hope I don't mess it up!

Holy Cow. Long time no post, huh?
It's already almost November! It was September, like, yesterday.
How time flies when you're busy. 8D
In other news!
My Biology class finally had a fun lab. PCR (at least, I think that's what it's called). The Lab tech was cool--he's normally not there, but they changed the materials suddenly, and he knew that we would have no idea what to do, so he stayed and helped out. In fact, he basically taught us the lab XD Out professor was very tired, and she didn't really know about PCR, so... yeah. It was a good thing he was there!
Don't get me wrong, she's a good teacher, but she's never really done PCR--she grew up when electrophoresis and PCR were only things that researchers did. Because you know how DNA was only discovered about fifty years ago.
Next Monday I get to see my genetic markers...or whatever they're called.
In other, less fun news...
I have to start looking for a job again. My commissions help out, but I just don't get enough of them.
So, I have to start calling the temp agency again. I hope they're not mad and me and Emily for not calling in oh...two or three months. We have a good excuse! We go to school every day of the week. So...yeah.
So we'll only be able to work evenings and weekends. But, hopefully they'll find us a job or two. I hope.
Uhg. Three classes at community college + work + commissions = tired, and probably stressed out, Misty. *faint*
Oh, well... Bite the bullet and suck it up! XP I can handle it.

A strange thing happened to me yesterday.
I took an unexpected two hour nap.
I was cranky (I hadn't gotten a lot of sleep), and I was being snappish, so I decided to go up to my room and spoil my kitty. But, she was sleeping. Normally I have no problem waking her up to cuddle her. But, she was sleeping in my reading chair, and I had been trying to persuade her to sleep there for a while, now... so I didn't want to disturb her.
So, instead of petting her, I layed down on my bed, and turned on the radio. It was playing some stupid hip-hop song, so I switched it off.
After looking at my ceiling for a little bit, I turned onto my stomach and decided to watch my kitty sleep. Then when I became kinda uncomfortable, I turned onto my side. And then my shoulders were kinda cold, so I pulled my blankets over them.
Next thing I knew, it was two hours later, and Emily was asking if I would make pancakes for dinner.
I was tired, but... I wasn't expecting to fall asleep like that. I haven't taken an afternoon nap like that... in years? I can't even remember the last time that happened. XD
P.S.
For the maybe four or five people who've actually read 'The White Tower', I am still working on it! Inking has just been taking a while. I'm almost halfway through, though! I'm trying some different inking things for this chapter.
And... when I get home from school, all I really want to do is laze around and watch TV. >..>;; |

| First Week of School |

Well, the first week of school is finished! It looks like this semester should be fun~!
I'm taking Psychology, Math and Biology. Did I mention that before? I don't remember.
All my classes are in a row--except there's a one hour break between psychology and math, but that's okay. A little break is kind nice~!
The only thing that irks me about my schedule, is that psychology is at 7:00AM. And my sister makes me get up at 5:15AM so that we have plenty of time to get ready and go. I know it's a good thing to get up early so that you have time to wake up and eat and stuff... But an hour and fifteen minutes early? I think we'd be just fine waking up forty-five minutes early instead. XP I hate having to get up so early. I HATES it.
So all my professors seem very good and nice. I especially like my Biology teacher, because she has a southern accent. She's fun to listen to because of that~! :D
I don't have too much homework yet, so that makes me happy. My math teacher assigns us homework every day, though. But, I don't mind so much... I'm not very good at math, so repetition is a good thing for me. And right now we're just reviewing stuff I already know, so homework isn't hard (yet), it just takes time.
Here's hoping that next week will be good too!

| Goodbye Big Red, Hello Gidget |

So, Dad made the decision today to just give Big Red away to charity. He had been thinking about just buying the brake parts and fix him gradually--you know, tinker with it a bit--but in the end decided to just let him go.
Big Red was a great van--despite not having air conditioning. We had some great adventures with him. Is it weird that I'm going to miss a car? ...yeah.
But, on the lighter side!
We did get a new car yesterday--well, she's a used car, but she's new to us!
She's cherry red. I'm not sure what brand she is, but she's like a sports car. Two doors, four seats (or was it five?), she's got air conditioning (very important in AZ), fairly good paint (it needs some touching up), good interior. And her headlights are the kind that pop out. I've always loved cars that had that feature ^,^
We have decided to call her Gidget.
I really like her.
However, she's a stick shift. I can't drive stick. So, now that we have two cars that're stick shift, I'm gonna have to learn. That's okay, though... I was going to have to eventually, anyway. You never know, there could be an emergency and the only car available might be a stick-shift.
Ah, crap. School starts again in about two weeks. T__T Oh, well... all good things must come to an end. Phooey. |

There we go. I changed the image for my layout. I'll probably change it again soon, and update the whole layout thing, but this'll do for now.
Also, got the whole SAP thing taken care of yesterday. It took too long for something so simple. SAP means 'satisfactory academic progress' apparently. And my SAP is just fine so everything is hunky-dory.
Now I just have to wait for that 'DV' form to clear. Blehg.
And, in sadder news, it seems our old big van (named 'Big Red') might be getting the axe soon. He's been a great car (despite the fact he has no air conditioning), but Mom doesn't want to spend $1500 to fix him; she'd rather just put that money toward a new car. I agree with her. But, she's leaving it up to Dad. It's his car. I'm pretty sure he'll agree agree with mom, but my dad is very sentimental... and we have had great times in old Big Red.
Well, I gotta go make some Schneken now!!
...Schneken is German for 'snail'. I'm not sure of the spelling. Oh, it's not really snails, it's actually those sweet cinnamon rolls with glaze all over the tops. We just call them Schneken because they look like snails~! :3 |

Dammit, if it's not one thing, it's another.
We--my big sister, big brother, and I--were selected for an audit on our FAFSA crap. It's because Dad's income was way less than usual last year; that' because he was learning how to drive a big-rig for like... a month or two? Yeah.
Anyway, it's totally lame. We had to fill out some stupid form about Mom and Dad's taxes to let them know it's all legit and crap. Hopefully that'll clear before school starts otherwise we'll have to look into some 'payment plan' until it does.
Also I have to do some 'SAP' thing. I'm not sure what that is, but it's important. I'll have to figure that out tomorrow... couldn't do that today because MCC's computers are messed up or something...
*sigh*
Misty is not a happy camper. I HATE this school crap. Classes and homework I can deal with--and even enjoy... but all the forms!! It's so frustrating and tedious. |
